Named after the Mungo National Park which lies almost at the centre of the Mungo Patrol area. In addition to the specific missionaries supported by some of our individual church organisations, the missionaries and mission work listed below are supported both prayerfully and financially by our congregation and church family as a whole: COLIN and ALISON MORROWĬolin and Alison used to be members of our church at Penrith and now work as full-time outback missionaries for Presbyterian Inland Mission. MISSION SPOTS On the first Sunday of each month, a Mission Spot is included in all services, providing an opportunity to focus on one specific missionary couple or missionary program each time as they continue to serve the Lord and take the Gospel message to people in remote communities. From time to time, some of our own church members have been involved in short-term mission trips, visiting and supporting missionaries in their work overseas. That’s over 1,000 total days of volunteer labor equating to over 8,480 hours of work done on the job sites – completing projects that have included metal & shingle roofs, insulation & siding, skirting, framing, dry walling, painting, plumbing, and so much more, all to assist individuals and families who were in need of the some extra help.Īs we begin our third decade of mission work in the North Country, we hope to continue our work as servants of Jesus Christ.Supported Missionaries and Missionary Work Each year, our church supports a range of missionary programs and ministry areas such as: Bibles for the Persecuted, TEAR Fund and the annual TEAR Most Useful Gifts Catalogue, as well as the Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child appeal. Working 8 hours per day at approximately 32 hours per week over the course of 20 years… you do the math. Combining all crew members, 265 people have traveled to the North Country. Think about it this way… one third of our congregation has volunteered a week of their hard-earned vacation time to go on this trip at least once! Pretty good for a church of just over 200 members! And here’s another fun fact – the average tenure of a team member is nearly 4 years!īut let’s talk more about the impact these people have made on the families Saint Lawrence Country, New York and its surrounding communities. In those 20 years, over 70 members of the congregation have participated, including 33 very unique adults and 40 different youth members. For 23 years, the Donegal Presbyterian Church Outreach Team has partnered with Ministries in the North Country located in northern NY to perform rural rehab on homes for those in need of assistance.
